I am an entrepreneur and researcher with over 28 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing high-performance solutions across the hospitality, care and technology sectors. My career is underpinned by a strong blend of expertise in planning, design, operations, and project management, consistently ensuring that infrastructure and solutions deliver tangible, end-to-end business outcomes. I have built elite teams representing the top 1% in capability and demonstrated versatility across financial, tactical, and operational domains.
I currently serve as the Executive Director and Managing Director of a group of companies operating in the UK and India. In parallel, I hold multiple senior advisory and academic roles, including: Advisory Board Member at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), Namibia; School Governor (Leadership and Management) at Marton Primary Academy and Nursery, UK; Chairman of the Nayak Foundation, UK; Former Board Trustee of the Shree Jagannatha Society UK and the Safari People Matter Organisation, UK; Adjunct Professor at the Odisha State Open University and Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology, India.
I began my career as a one-person operation, acquiring marquee clients, increasing revenues by 68% in one year, and successfully turning around a division headquartered in Bangkok. This success led to my promotion to General Manager, then to Director of IT Services, overseeing operations across Canada, the USA, and Hong Kong. In the UK, I led the delivery of complex IT and telecoms projects—including network design, virtualisation, IT support, helpdesk management, cybersecurity, and project management—from our London headquarters. I was subsequently promoted to IT Director, then Partner, with oversight of a subsidiary in Waterlooville, England. In the hospitality sector, I have owned and managed five hotels in UK and one in India, including 46, 44, 21, 21, 21 and 12 bedrooms respectively, all rated 3 stars.
I completed Doctor of Science (DSc) from Sambalpur University. My academic background includes: PhD in Computer Science, Utkal University; Master of Science (MSc) in Professional Engineering, Aston University; Master of Business Administration (MBA), University of Chichester; MSc in ICT, Assumption University; BEng (Hons) in Software Engineering, University of Bolton; BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT, University of Derby; Project Management Programme, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford; and Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, OTHM (Ofqual regulated).
Professionally, I hold several high-level registrations and certifications, including: Chartered Engineer (CEng) – Engineering Council, UK; Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) and Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) – Institution of Engineers (India); European Engineer (Eur Ing) – FEANI, Europe; Certified IT Project Manager (CITPM) – IDA and Singapore Computer Society; ITCP – New Zealand Computer Society; Certified Professional (CP) – Australian Computer Society; Chartered IT Professional (CITP) – BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT; Professional certifications from Microsoft, Red Hat, Cisco, and others. I am an elected Fellow or senior member of multiple professional bodies: Fellow (FIMA) – Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, UK; Fellow (FRSA) – Royal Society of Arts, UK; Chartered Fellow (FBCS CITP) – British Computer Society, UK; Senior Member – IEEE and IEEE Computer Society, USA; Senior Member – Computer Society of India; Senior Member – Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), USA.
I am also actively engaged in public life as a member of the local Party, a member of the United Nations Association UK (UNA-UK), and UNA Equality and Human Rights. Throughout my career, I have received several awards, including the Outstanding UK Business Award – Technology & Innovation presented by Lord Roger Evans and Louie French, Shadow Minister for Sport and Culture, Global South Maritime Heritage Summit 2025, House of Lords, UK Parliament; Best Innovation in ICT Solutions for the Year, UK; Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Award for Innovative Academic Research 2025 from Veer Kunwar Singh University; Youth Entrepreneur Award from the Utkal Federation of United Nations Associations, and the Bharat Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar and Certificate of Education Excellence from the KTK Foundation, India and Certificate of Appreciation from Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed) University, India. My media appearances include reality television programmes such as “Four in a Bed” (Channel 4) and “Homes under the Hammer” (BBC One), as well as numerous TV interviews and features in print and digital media.
I have published extensively, including research papers, patents, and have served as a PhD examiner, programme chair, conference speaker, editor, reviewer, and academic committee member for various universities and conferences. I am passionate about sharing knowledge, and have delivered motivational talks and technical lectures to audiences ranging from 50 to over 1,000 people, focusing on technology, project and risk management, entrepreneurship, leadership, and personal development. I also contribute through volunteering and mentoring young adults. My current research interests include project management, MANET and risk management.
